Liposuction, tummy tuck are cosmetics with little health benefits

20 Nov

Cosmetic surgery is only skin deep and really does not affect one’s risk of health problems. When asked the question whether a tummy tuck reduces a person’s risk of diabetes and other fat related illnesses, Dr. Louis Aronne, director of comprehensive weight management program and New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Centre in NY said absolutely not.  He said the problematic fat is located inside the abdominal wall and around the organs.  A tummy tuck or liposuction removes only superficial, subcutaneous fat.  The fat in the liver and muscles and in and around the internal organs is the overflow from what is not stored under the skin and it is the overflow that causes damage.

So you’d better get on the treadmill and watch your calories to get rid of overflow fat.
