How about a little detox with Dr. Oz

9 Jan

As a child growing up in the tropics, we always had a “clean out” after every big holiday – Easter, Christmas and Summer. Our parents felt we ate a lot of stuff and needed to clean out so we’re ready for school. Just to let you know I did not grow up in a culture where we checked out what’s wrong or what will be before too long. We just made sure we kept ourselves as healthy as possible by taking the right medicines proactively. When we check out what’s going wrong inside our bodies we tend to lead anxious-ridden lives. Let’s be proactive this year and you know, you’re on the right track. Take that step, go for it. Twenty eight days to feeling better, lighter and healthier.

A little detox after the holidays might be helpful

5 Jan

I came across this excellent article in Chaltelaine’s.  I like to do simple things when what I am asked to do is complicated, there is the likelihood of shelving it away for another day. This detox is as simple as they come.

You know that you need to detox if you have any or a combination of these symptoms:

Signs and symptoms of toxicity
Here are some of the signs that a cleanse may be beneficial to your health:

  • Cravings for sugar, salt, starches, bread
  • Bloating and a gaseous, distended stomach or lower abdomen
  • Acne
  • Headaches, stomach aches
  • Lethargy, fatigue
  • Dry skin and hair, eczema
  • Depression
  • Irritability
  • Constipation, diarrhea (overall irregularity)
  • Mood swings
  • Lack of concentration
  • Weakened immunity
  • Weight gain and difficulty losing weight

Now find out how to do it.
