Ciabatta French Toast with Cinnamon Butter Maple Syrup & Marinated Strawberries

Recipe for Batter

(ingredients)8 eggs1c powdered sugar

2c heavy cream

¾ tsp nutmeg1 T cinnamon

1 T vanilla extract¾ tsp chili powder

1 loaf of Ciabatta bread- use 3 slices per personPreparation


  1. Stir ingredients above in medium size mixing bowl.
  2. Set aside 2 Slice Ciabatta bread at a diagonal about 1 ½ ” thick3.
  3. Dredge slices of bread to cover both sides in batter in bowl
  4. Place slices on hot griddle or frying pan. Turn after 1 ½ minutes to 2nd side
  5. ALSO – ½ c extra powdered sugar for sprinkling on top of toast 2c marinated sliced strawberries (mixed with 1/4c sugar,2 T lemon juice).
  6.  Plate up 3 slices / stacked (pyramid style) layer with marinated strawberries
  7.  Sprinkle with powdered sugar
  8.  Serve with warm cinnamon butter maple syrup

2c Pure Maple Syrup (or your favorite brand)

½ pound of butter (2 sticks)

2tsp cinnamon



  1. Heat syrup in small sauce pan and blend in cinnamon
  2. 2. Slowly stir the 2 sticks of butter into the hot syrup, until fully melted
  3. 3. Hold in warm pan until toast is ready (on low heat)    NOTE: left over syrup can be stored in refrigerator. Heat to serve
