Find out how garbage makes good food

12 Jan

This is an interesting article and a commentary of our affluence.  If we were living in a hostile environment, we might look at food very differently than how we look at it today. We throw away anything that does not appeal to our eyes as perfect, fresh and appealing.  This story shows us how what we throw away can be used in very healthy and appetizing ways. It’s an eye-opener and I enjoyed it very much. Please read and feel free to share your understanding and stories as well. Thank you

I just started a compost pile on my side yard. Hoping to get a proper bin for it before I stink out my neighbors. Have you heard of The Real Food Summit next week? http://mfwblog.com/2012/07/02/announcing-the-real-food-summit/

In addition to my compost pile I have my wiggly worms working hard and I have quite a build up of worms. I really like checking out my words and seeing the black compost they make from the scraps of biodegrable fruits and veggies I feed them with. However it is a good idea to get a container for your compost as it could make bad neighbours.
    Thanks for sharing.
